MEN'S MINISTRY

Men are different from Women

God created men and women both to have different strength's and weakness to help support each other in the pursuit of life and serving God.
Men are different physically, emotionally, and mentally.

On average, Men have 40% more muscle mass than women.

Men have more red blood cells and less white cells than women do (which is the reason men get sick easier, i.e. "man flu", but heal quicker from cuts and bruises.).

Men's brains are wired up differently, we think differently than women do.

Men tend to focus on objects, problem solving, logic; while women tend focus more on people, relationships, feelings.

The Two Paths System

God has shown me He has set out two paths before men to follow. One is our Calling, the other our Healing.

I'm not talking about the narrow and wide paths and gates in Matthew 7:13, but instead its like our left foot walks and steps on the Calling side and our right foot walks and steps on the Healing side.

Two paths running together side by side, parallel to each other, working together.

It is like a train running on the two rail beams that allow the train to move forward and not become stuck on the ground.

The reason this is important for men to understand is that we tend to ignore the healing side, and end up hopping down the Calling side on one foot which we end up falling over later on.

The Healing side to our spiritual journey is just as important as our Calling side.

The other thing I believe God is saying is that Healing is not always like a heavy stop at one point and you cant do anything else, then you continue on your journey. A lot of the time its a continues flow of healing as you work with God in your Calling.

I think woman get this a bit better, as men tend to struggle with the close spiritual relationship side of God, you know feelings and all that.

Its like coming closer to God the Father which can trigger a lot of deep hurts, rejection, abandonment, failure, shame, etc...  Men naturally want to repress these feelings, get on with life and not deal with them, resisting Gods Healing and so end up hopping down the path, keeping God at a distance.

The other side of it, men struggle stepping out in their Calling. They are afraid and scared of what God has for them, of what others may think of them.

So where ever you are in your walk and maturity in Christ and you are feeling stuck, you can always pray and seek God and ask Him which step He wants you to focus on next, your Calling? or your Healing?

Don't be afraid and don't be prideful, Trust God that He knows what He is doing.

If God can heal me, He can heal you!

Psalm 147:3 'He heals the brokenhearted
   and binds up their wounds.'

Jeremiah 6:16 'This is what the Lord says:

“Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths,

ask where the good way is, and walk in it,

and you will find rest for your souls.

The Five Foundations of Man

God showed me these five foundations of man. It applies to all men not just Christian men.

This is to help men see a purpose and identity in their masculinity, as it is under attack by Satan through todays ungodly society.

The five foundations that God created men to be, are;

Builder,   Defender,    Explorer,   Passionate,   Sensitive.

1. Men are Builders

God created men to build. To build houses, villages, cities, countries, etc. To occupy the Earth.

We can see that in trade work, and the way men like to make things. Men like to fix things, to tinker, to potter, to improve things. Men are normally objective, problem focus rather than relationship, emotional focus.

Satan tries to corruption this with hate and destruction. Men can end up wanting to do the opposite, to destroy things. Even wanting to destroy themselves out of their own hurts and from Satan's deception.

 2. Men are Defenders

God created men to Defend. To protect what God has created, to protect their family, community, and country. We see this desire triggered when there is a threat. Men tend to go towards the threat automatically, while woman retreat. Ask any man if they would die protecting their family and they would almost always say yes. Why do you think men put up their hands to fight in wars when they see innocent people getting killed, especially if it is against their own country.

Satan of course, tries to get men to be attackers and aggressive, hurting and harming others for their selfish desires. Even attacking themselves, putting themself down, defending their hearts from the hurtful words of others.

3. Men are Explorers

God create men to explore. This is to help men explore the earth and find new things. To expand and subdue the Earth. This is also the area we test ourselves, push the boundaries, grow in confidence, and be brave.

To want to know more, learn new things. Climb trees, mountains, go hiking, be in the wilderness, etc..

To step out of our comforts.

Satan wants to keep us bound in fear. Not wanting men to step out and be brave, not speak the Truth, not find God in the secluded places, and not want us to keep taking those STEPS in our spiritual journey with Christ Jesus.

4. Men are Passionate

God created men to be passionate. God gave men a desire to want a bigger purpose and meaning in their life other than themselves and their family. Men who tap into this passion have done great things in their lives.

This may be hard for some to hear, but if men don't find something more to do with their lives other than just their family and work, they tend to become bored, depressed, anxious, hopeless, leading to a life crisis or they become numb and closed off, which Satan wants.

Men need to find something to be passionate about, to feel they are part of something bigger than themselves, part of finding purpose. Men sometimes find it in Hobbies, activities, politics, religion, church, the army, groups, study, etc.. But sometimes that wont fulfill them for long as our main passion and purpose needs to come from God, through Christ Jesus, by the Holy Spirit, what ever that my look like.

5. Men are Sensitive

God created men to be sensitive. God gave emotions to men too, believe or not, although most men don't want to admit it. Men do care, they do want to stand up for the weak and vulnerable.

They do want to minister justice and mercy. They do want to share their love.

But Satan gets in the way, corrupting and deceiving men to be afraid, harsh and not care. Satan does this through greed, hate, resentment, bitterness, lust, etc.. all acting out from our hurts and insecurities.

Men do get hurt, but they tend to shut it away, bottle it up, build walls, defend and isolate themselves, hardening their hearts. They don't want you to know you are hurting them.

The Answer

God is the answer to help men take back their foundational identity from Satan.

To be healed and set free.

To be be made strong and brave.

To be loved and accepted.

To know who you really are in God, and why you exist.

And what is means to be a man.

All this can be found in having a personal relationship with God the Father, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

Men's mental health

Men are committing suicide 2.5 times more than woman, as they tend to hold things in more so than woman, not wanting to show their vulnerabilities, ie as defender's.

The mental health sector is run mainly by woman, and as such can create a feminine counselling culture that misunderstands men at times, putting them off from seeking help.

Society tends to acknowledge and promote famine qualities and shuns masculine qualities these days, leaving men confused and feeling ashamed of their masculinity when they don't need to be. Well, true Masculinity that God has intended.

Men are getting put down and rejected for just being a man.

Men and woman are different, and as such I believe we need to approach men differently as we do woman.
